Morphy Richards 732005 2-in-1 Supervac Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
- 2 distinct cleaning modes
- Swivel Motorised Floor Brush head
- 18V battery providing up to 35 minute runtime
- Collapsible handle making storage easier
- Lightweight cordless vacuum cleaner
- 2 year guarantee
The Morphy Richards 732005 2-in-1 supervac is a cordless upright vacuum and a cordless handheld vacuum as well. It is 18cm x 27.5cm and 113.2cm high, but has a collapsible handle meaning that it is easier to store.
The weight of the Morphy Richards 732005 is good as well as the whole vacuum is only 3kg.
The 100 Watt motor is powered by an 18 Volt battery that can run for about 35 minutes on a full charge when it will then need to be docked in it’s charging cradle for about 3 – 4 hours to fully recharge.
The suction for this vacuum is very reasonable and can do a good job picking up pet hairs.
In it’s upright mode the 732005 uses it’s motorised floor head to power through the dirt and manoeuvring around the furniture is helped by the swivel head.
When the time calls for more awkward situations the handheld vacuum portion can be quickly unclipped and fitted with the usual additional tools like the crevice tool if required. This makes it easy to quickly take the handheld to clean up a spill or clean the car without any fuss.
The dust canister is 0.3 litres in size and is easily removed from the handheld unit thereby making it simple to empty with ease.
2 vacuums in one
Waste dust canister size is small
Overall this is a great vacuum and has a good runtime in comparison to other cordless models but still has good suction. As it sells in the mid price range for these types of vacuums it is good value for money.
Beldray BEL0581 Generation 2 Cordless Quick Vac Lite Vacuum Cleaner
- Telescopic extension hose
- Dual cyclone technology
- 0.5 litre waste dust tank
- Runtime of up to 25 minutes
The Beldray BEL0581 Generation 2 Cordless Quick Vac is 24.7cm x 11.7cm x 24cm in size and only weighs 1.5kg. If you have limited storage but still want a decent vacuum then this would fit your requirements.
There is a corded model, but this cordless model has a 22.2Volt battery powering a 2400 Watt motor which can manage a runtime of about 20 -25 minutes from fully charged. After the initial charge, it only takes about 2 – 3 hours to fully recharge the BEL0581 via the charger that plugs directly into it.
Even though the cleaner is small it has large 0.5 litre waste box and good suction using dual cyclone technology. You get the normal assortment of floor, crevice and brush tools though there is no handy storage for these.
There is a plastic extendable hose to let you have the ability to get into those tight awkward spots and some metal extender hose attachments to let you be able to use it almost like a cylinder vacuum complete with a swivelling floor head to make it easier to negotiate round the furniture.
Large waste storage
Easy to store
The suction could be better
No storage for attachments
As it sells in the mid price range for these types of vacuums it is worth considering if you are tight for storage space.
Gtech AirRam Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
- Lightweight only 3.5kg
- 40 minute runtime
- large waste storage of 0.8 litres
- 2 year warranty
The Gtech AirRam Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is 25.8 cm x 29.2cm x 112.5cm and only weighs 3.5kg. It is more than a match for some of the mains powered uprights in the market today with it’s cleaning ability.
The 100 watt motor is powered by a 22 Volt Lithium Ion battery that takes about 4 hours to charge but, once it is charged it will run for about 40 minutes which is more than enough time to clean your average 3 bedroom house twice! The low design enables it to easily clean under your furniture and this is also why the Gtech AirRam has a longer than average runtime.
It doesn’t waste energy by keeping air cyclones running but sucks up the waste and compresses it into bales of dust that are only 4 cm off the ground. The bales of dirt are stored in easy to remove trays at the bottom of the Gtech AirRam which have a storage capacity of 0.8 litres. Its rotary brush can clean carpets and hard floors and pickup pet hairs.
You get a 2 year warranty with this as well as it is able to use it’s USB connection to be able to check the battery status, energy used and even calories burnt!
40 minute runtime
0.8 litre waste storage
The rotary head can get clogged up with long hair
The handle is not collapsible
There are no extra attachments so have to use the AirRam on stairs
The Gtech AirRam Cordless Vacuum Cleaner sells in the high price range for cordless cleaners, but it does have a excellent runtime when compared to most. It’s large waste storage is also very impressive but the lack of attachments limits this to a floor cleaner only.
Bosch BCH625KTGB Athlet Upright Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
- 60 minute runtime
- 0.9 litre waste
- 3 cleaning modes
- 2 year warranty
The Bosch BCH625KTGB Athlet Upright Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is 28.5cm x 18.5cm x 116cm in size and weighs only 3.3kg. It has a 1800 watt motor powered by a 18 volt battery with a noise rating of 72dB, and even though this is a cordless vacuum it’s performance is comparable to that of a 2400 watt corded vacuum cleaner.
There are 3 cleaning modes that you are able to select, level 1 – for basic cleaning, level 2 – for the slightly stronger cleaning and level 3 for the intense cleaning of stubborn spots. As a result the runtime on battery power is effected by which mode is chosen but on the normal setting it can achieve a runtime of about 60 minutes before a recharge is required which will take about 6 hours to fully charge.
It has good suction and can clean all floor types and with its generous 0.9 litre waste box will not need to be emptied every 5 minutes.
The usual attachments including a large crevice tool, flexible hose and shoulder strap are also provided and the floor head is a powered brush with a moveable nozzle joint to aid navigation around furniture.
60 minute runtime
0.9 litre waste storage
2 year warranty
The suction on the flexible hose attachment could be better
The Bosch BCH625KTGB Athlet Upright Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is a high price ranged vacuum cleaner but overall if you can afford this then this is quite possibly the model to beat.
Dyson V6 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner [Energy Class A]
- Cleaner head that is motorised
- Dual Cyclone Vacuum to pick up fine dust
Decent useable time before recharge required
